My Paper Heart Lyrics & chords by Francesca Battistelli

Well, I've been treated like a valentine
That's been ripped apart and left behind
I'm a fragile girl in a crazy careless world

My dreams were torn and scattered on the floor
But You've been picking up the pieces, Lord
'Cause Your love is real, the only hope to heal

My paper heart is Yours now
I have landed in Your hands
Come so far to find out
My life will never be the same
Since you wrote Your name
On my paper heart

I had been so terrified to trust
So many times I'd been reduced to dust
But You keep showing me
You're the safest place to be

My paper heart is Yours now
I have landed in Your hands
Come so far to find out
My life will never be the same
Since you wrote Your name
On my paper heart

Never knew that I could feel the way I feel
Never knew that there could be a love so real
Never knew that I could feel the way I feel right now
Oh yeah, yeah

My paper heart is Yours now
I have landed in Your hands
I've come so far to find out
My life will never be the same
Since you wrote Your name
On my paper heart

I never knew that I could feel the way I feel right now
I never knew that I could feel the way I feel
I never knew that I could feel the way I feel right now **This lyrics is not for commercial use**

According to the Hundred More Years songfacts Battistelli chose to title her sophomore record after the track "Hundred More Years" because the tune's subject matter of a couple falling in love and having their first child mimiced her own life. Hundred More Years was released on March 1, 2011.

Francesca Battistelli is no stranger to the stage. Raised by parents immersed in the arts and Broadway, she developed a love of music, theatre, and performance at a young age. But instead of using these talents for applause and accolades, Francesca prefers to point people to something beyond herself --towards hope in Christ. Her soulful piano-pop sound resembles a blend of her music interests -- jazz, rock, gospel and R&B -- woven beautifully together with themes of trust and risk-taking. In a noisy world filled with sounds and images, we cry out for an authentic voice--one who is not afraid to speak truth and purpose to a generation. In singer/songwriter Francesca Battistelli, we have found that voice. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.

    Got my thoughts
    I got my words
Got this head full of answers
    Got You wrapped up
    Got You under control
See my future like the past behind me
    I think I know where You’re leading
    Don’t need no questions
Don’t need no rocking the boat

But I just forget all the mystery
I just forget who You are

When I know that I know
What You have down the road
    When I’m sure that
    I’ve figured You out
Help me see that I’m small
That I can’t know it all
    ‘Cause You’re so unpredictable
    ‘Cause You’re so unpredictable

    You said the foolish
    Would shame the wise
    To put my faith
    In what’s beyond my eyes
    And to believe You
I have to come as a child

So help me to rest in the mystery
    Of what I can’t understand

When I know that I know
What You have down the road
    When I’m sure that
    I’ve figured You out
Help me see that I’m small
That I can’t know it all
    ‘Cause You’re so unpredictable
    ‘Cause You’re so unpredictable

Can’t wrap my mind around You
Can’t put You in a box
    Can’t keep You safely contained
    You’re gonna move the way
    You wanna move today
    Just let me follow along

When I know that I know
What You have down the road
    When I’m sure that
    I’ve figured You out
Help me see that I’m small
That I can’t know it all
    ‘Cause You’re so unpredictable
    ‘Cause You’re so unpredictable
